We've just done nearly a month all organized by Caper through Northern India, Nepal and Bhutan ( Nov 17 to Dec 9, 2009). They were great, very attentive and patient and we were fine-tuning our trip to the last moment, even after we'd paid up. They were very prompt and precise with the correspondence and they were willing to accommodate our wishes to the last moment, and this wasn't an easy trip. We got everything promised, no cause for complaint at all. Would certainly travel with them again if we ever went back to the same part of the world.

A friend and I traveled to India with Caper Travel, intending to head to Leh from Manali in August 2010. Unfortunately, floods and washed out roads prevented us from arriving in Leh, and the company did a really good job of helping us reschedule the remaining days - including a $100 cash rebate for a flight that we missed due to the road conditions. The drivers were excellent, and the overall experience was 4-1/2 stars - the missing 1/2 star only due to the fact that we were not told a few things that would have been helpful had we known them in advance - one of which is the VERY expensive entry fee to the Taj Mahal. I would certainly use them again, but next time I would prepare a detailed list of questions about each piece of the journey in order to be sure of what we needed to do. Otherwise, the service was great - pickups were friendly and reliable, and the trip was a real adventure. Don't forget to get your visa before heading to India, though - we didn't know we needed one until a few weeks before our departure.

I can say for myself that Caper Travel did a fantastic job, always punctual, good drivers used and good guides selected. I used them for 17 days in the Spring and got a lot of site-seeing in. I compared prices with others and they were very reasonable

Hi! I just return from India, and I must say I love it!! Caper Travel company were fantastic, when we arrived at the airport there was some from the company with a flower' necklace and we drive to the hotel in the center of Delhi. We visit Delhi in a car with ac and a guide who spoke English, and that happen in every other city we visit. The drive was always the same in Delhi, Jaipur and Agra. From Agra to Varanasi we went by train and that was a very radical experience (I recommend 1st class sleeper, because 2nd class sleeper is very bad), and return to Delhi by airplane (Spice Jet) and thatwas a good trip too.
In each city the travel company send us always a person who represent them in other to give us all the information for that city and is contact in case of an emergency.
So, I recommend Caper Travel Company because they are definitely very professionals.

We have had a superb tour through Caper Travel, and I thoroughly recommend them to any one who is considering a tour. We arrived in Delhi 15 minutes early, and the only glitch was the short wait until the Caper travel rep. actually arrived! We were taken to our hotel and introduced to Uday who was the driver who remained with us throughout the tour. His English was not brilliant, but his driving was. We felt safe and in good hands throughout. The hotels we chose were fine, but maybe we should have paid a bit extra and gone for the 5* options. In Delhi the City Park was a bit remote. We had different guides for each of the sites we went to, and they were all interesting and enthusiastic. If you don't want to visit the tourist shops they recommend, then hold firm and say no. If you go, be prepared for the hard sell and inflated prices. Everything went like clockwork - they phone ahead and your guides are waiting. The Golden Triangle tour we went on was hard work, but amazing. If you are thinking of going: don't hesitate - book now, and you'll get the trip of a lifetime at a fraction of the cost of booking via a UK travel agent.

Hello DG, we are still here in India and still a big fan of Caper Travel. Everything they have done has been beyond criticism. We did not use the hotels that you have mentioned but others which I picked up from posts here and asked them for. We used the Shanti Home in Delhi, Ranjith Svaasa in Amritsar, Alsisar Havelli in Jaipur, Karohi Havelli in Udaipur. The Taj View in Agra was ok but after the typical ex house hotels mentioned it was like a sleep factory -- so modern.
We are at the la calypso in Calungute, Goa now, we choose this place, not them and it is a disappointment for what it has cost and what we have been using.
A toyota Innova is a brilliant car to be driven around in.
Try and include Amritsar to your timetable, not many Europeans visit it but for us it has been better than all the rest, and we got the chance to visit the Indian/Pakistan border for the daily closing ceremony.

I just returned from a 15 day tour that I booked w/ Caper. It was great. I was met at the airport after going through customs and getting my luggage. The drivers were great and most of the tour guides were wonderful as well. Overall it was a great experience. Best of luck!

I and three friends, all of us ladies over 65, are travelling to India on the 17th October 2009 having booked with Caper Travel, and paid half the maney in advance. We are flying to delhi, then visit Shimla, back on the Toy train to Delhi. Delhi then Neeramna fort on the way to Jaipur, Jaipur, then Agra, with two visits to the Taj. On to Varanasi, then Katmandu, and finally Chitwan. I will send our findings on return. So far we have had fantatstic help from Caper Travel, booking Hotels which I researced, and therefore I will let you know how it all went. BJP. U.K.

I have just returned from my first trip to India and Nepal organised with Caper Travel. It has been fantastic. At each section of the journey we were met. The hotels which we had researched ourselves and Caper had booked, were fantastic, the tour guides were well informed and when we said that we were tired and needed to go back to the hotel they did as asked. Yes we did go to some shops with them, but we had a choice. As four ladies travelling alone we were very well cared for, our drivers were very good, even though we are unused to such traffic, and animals on the road. Our trip to Kathmandu was amazing, and on to Chitwan where we went on safris for a day and half. I would not return to Katmandu unless I had to the polution and the politics are horrendous, but the care we were shown by the local guide was excellent. But the dirt and grime!!?? I should have read more about Nepal before I went.
India lived up to expectations, Shimla was a green haven if you can put up with the British having ruled India from there. Delhi a noisey capital with the commonwealth games coming next year, Jaipur absolutely fantastic, beautiful palaces to visit, and inforgetable Agra, the 2 visits to the Taj Mahal were beautiful, we were quite moved ny its beauty, but do stay at the Amarvillas hotel which looks out on to the Taj itself. If possible visit Varanasi, we stayed on the river side at the Rashmis Guest House, right in the thick of things, night ceremonies, and a sunrise boat ride. If you want to see the colours of India that is the place.
I can honestly say that I hope to return to Indai oneday, and have no hesitation of recomending Caper Travel Co. Our lady in the office was Monika Singh, she could not have worked harded for us. Never once saying that we were a nuisance with our questions and querries. We started planning the trip in March, and it took place in October. Give yourself time to research the hotel and the places to visit, get a good guide book, and go for it.

I have just returned from India having booked last March with Caper Travel, our tour was fantatstic, we were looked after really well, with good drivers, and guides. I had researched the hotels and Caper booked them. All flights, train reservations etc. were organised by Caper, they are regisitered with the Ministry Of Tourism, which Deppak isn't. You do need some guarantee. We only paid half the money in advance, the rest on arrival. It really was the most amazing trip, and very reasonale in price. Go for 5 star hotels, you won't go wrong.

Thus us untrue, I have just returned from a holiday in India. Caper are registered with the Ministry of Tourism, they arranged a fantastic holiday for us, and I would recommend them honestly to anyone. For people booking from abroad, we need the guarantee of the Ministry of Tourism.

we just returned from india on a trip booked by caper travel. i have to say that it was excellently organised. we had local representatives in all the areas.
all the hotels were excellent- but i do advise researching the hotels beforehand, as our goa hotel (marriott) was disappointing. caper promptly moved us to a better hotel of our choice which was much better.
the driver was punctual- we had no issues whatsoever.
i wouldnt recommend staying in anything less than 5 star when you are in india. the hotels are amazing.

Cost can vary quite a bit depending on the hotels you choose and the mode of transport, all I can say is that we found it very good value for money. As we didnt have a lot of time we found the efficient pickups, ready bookings etc very useful, we couldnt have covered all we did on our own in the same time. We had quotes from another two operators and Caper were the most competitive.
It is very advisable to get different quotes, ensuring the same hotels and transport are being offered.
